Q002: I cannot install LWD on my Windows XP or Vista, why?
Some WindowsXP and Vista systems disable support of 16-bit programms. The installer (an application performing installation of LogWorksDesigner) is 16-bit application therefore user is required to enable support of 16-bit applications at least temporary. This article explains the way how to enable 16-bit applications on WindowsXP or Vista.
During an installation following messages can popup and installation will be aborted.
In order to enable support of 16-bit applications follow next steps:
DISCLAIMER: please make sure that you do nothing excpeting what described below. Incorrect editing of Windows Registry can damage your operating system.

| 3 | In Regidtry Editor navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\WOW folder | |
| 4 | Find parameter DisallowedPolicyDefault and change it to 0 | |
| 5 | Install LogWorksDesigner | |
| 6 | After installation using Regidtry Editor change parameter DisallowedPolicyDefault back to 1 if you wish |

In some cases some applications after crushing (i.e. Internet Explorer) can stay in computer RAM and block starting of other 16-bit applications. In such cases you need to reboot the system and then start installation process.
